This is an incomplete idea and any feedback would be lovely. I shall still try to keep it pithy. LOL

The EU and the Euro currency and the “Euro Zone” was bound to fail, and I think I figured out why on my way home from getting a 22 oz-er for me and #ThaPink last night.

So what happened is the financial institutions got the advantages of the economy of scale that comes along with unifying the currency or money or economy. The problem is, every nation in the Euro Zone still had to fund their own military, their own police, their own social services, ect. No economy of scale.

So what I think happened is the money became a world power and got all of the benefits of being a huge unified world power, but the nations, and by the nations i mean the people, got none of the benefits that the United States has because we are a single nation with a single financial system.

I hope this idea is understandable to our readers as I am not 100% sure i have a complete understanding of what I’m trying to say. Anyone on the feed with a little bit more economic kung-fu care to chime in?

Special Report: George Soros: Godfather of the Left - Media Research Center

Hey guys, this one’s about the comments, not the article. These folks think that their god is going to send this man to hell because he disagrees with them politically. Ever notice that nobody ever says “god actually disagrees with me on this one”?

Courtesy of my father, one of the bravest men I have EVER known, in response to a comment made about the salary increase for the Director of African-American Media: “Yes, these are significant salary increases, although some of the salaries were surprisingly low before they were increased. Nowadays, $50k a year doesn’t go very far. I would love to see the salaries of all those in the White House. You have drawn attention to Kevin Lewis’ salary increase. I suspect it was the African-American part of his title you find appalling. It seems you disagree that tax dollars should be spent towards media messages designed to repair racial tension. Are you still falling for allowing the government to keep you busy hating other races so they can do their dirty work unnoticed? Focus your attentions towards the financial rape of the middle class. We are all being affected, regardless of race. The government, regardless of party, has put us close to financial ruin, and wants the middle class to pay for their inability to run the country with a balanced budget. I assume you want Romney and the GOP to win in Nov. You think the GOP will be leaning towards strengthening the middle class or business as usual and support the 1%ers? You ask if I received my raise. Yes, I did receive my raise and have each year ever since we organized and became a Union shop 12 years ago, plus all the other benefits of being Union. Before becoming Union it was a very different story. Myself and my coworkers went 7 years without a raise while upper management was dividing up what they screwed us out of amongst themselves. The GOP wants to take away my Union. Wonder why? These salary increases were alarming without knowing why they were given. What is more alarming is what the GOP caused when they deregulated the mortgage industry, and allowed Wall Street to have their way. I will remember to vote in November. I will be casting my vote for the one who wants everyone to pay their fair share, wants health care to be accessible and affordable for all, supports Union labor, wants regulation in place to control greedy 1%ers, and does not want to set womens rights back 100 years.” Hip Hip FUCKING HOORAY!!!!!!!!

House freshmen: Bring back earmarks - POLITICO.com

In a letter to Speaker John Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, 65 House Republican freshmen — or roughly three-quarters of the class — asked that the House consider a miscellaneous tariff bill jampacked with special provisions to suspend duties on various foreign goods, even though it runs counter to the earmark ban Republicans campaigned on in 2010 and instituted when they took power.

The push is a sign that freshmen who arrived in Washington talking up their anti-pork principles are now worried about what — if anything — they’ll have to show constituents when they hit the campaign trail. And, in typical Washington fashion, they think they’ve found a loophole that will get them past the ban.

It’s a tough call for GOP leaders, and they haven’t yet figured out what to do: keep faith with their promise or bend to the will of freshmen who like the sound of an earmark ban a heck of a lot more than the reality.

BILL KOCH’S COMPANY DONATES ANOTHER $1 MILLION TO ROMNEY’S SUPER PAC
by Lisa Rab, April 23, 2012
Bill Koch, the Palm Beach billionaire who criticized his brothers’ support of libertarian causes and has long escaped notice on the national political stage, is emerging as a major supporter of Mitt Romney.Huron Carbon, a subsidiary of Koch’s West Palm Beach-based Oxbow Corp., donated $1 million to Romney’s Restore Our Future “super PAC” last month. That brings Koch’s Restore Our Future donations to a total of $2 million, including $750,000 Oxbow contributed last year and $250,000 Koch gave on his own.Such visible support of the GOP presidential candidate has attracted national media attentionto Koch, who was once known more for his wine collection and romantic entanglements. WhenNew Times published a profile of Koch last August, his spokesman, Brad Goldstein, said Koch’s political leaningswere “hard to pin down.” But Goldstein added that Koch knew Romney from Massachusetts and Romney’s tenure at Bain Capital. Plus, Koch was unhappy with Obama.“He does not agree with the president’s economic policies,” Goldstein said. “This administration has made it extremely difficult for businesses to operate.”Oxbow is an oil, gas, and coal company based in West Palm Beach. Huron Carbon is based at the same address. Goldstein said the Obama administration has made it tougher to get mining permits, and Koch thinks Romney would be more “pro-business.” As governor of Massachusetts, Romney also opposed an offshore wind farm in Nantucket Sound — a project Bill Koch spent more than $1.5 million fighting. Koch’s brothers, Charles and David Koch, are oil barons who became known as the sugar daddies behind the Tea Party.
